Programming
Suite
Mosaic are also geared up for dance music production, offering
a programming suite running Cubase sequencing software with a number
of keyboards and modules including :-
•
Emu E5000 Sampler (with CD-Rom and Syjet cartridge)
• Yamaha P80 piano & SY77
• Korg X5D, 05R/W, M1R, Wavestation
• Roland JV1010, SPD11 drums,
• Waldorf Pulse
• MIDI retro-fitted vintage synths - Roland Juno 6, Moog Opus
3, 2´Jen SX1000
• Kenton Pro4 MIDI/CV gate converter
The recently updated Cubase system now has 16 individually addressable
Midi ins and outs for 512 separate channels and internal patching
within Cubase ensures that all credible Midi connection permutations
can be achieved without resorting to cable swapping.
As with the control room all audio connections are brought to a
central patch panel, including 32 tie lines to the control room
patch panel, so special signal paths can be set up as necessary.
The Midi suite has its own Berhinger MX2642 mixer and Aiwa DAT recorder
allowing preliminary mixes to be made.
The programming suite has a separate video synchronisation system
based on a Phillips SVHS video recorder (with 14" monitor)
and a pocket sync box. Analogue "SMPTE" time code is recorded
onto one audio channel of a video cassette and this, when played
back, is used by the pocket sync box to control Cubase playback.
This method of synchronisation can be bypassed if Cubase needs to
slave to house sync, but having it means that the Midi suite can
operate independently of the main system. |
