Brian Gray originally trained as an electrical/electronics engineer and worked for 12 years in the mining supplies industry. The collapse of this sector in the early 1990's led inevitably to redundancy and then a decision to pursue a long-term interest in music and sound production as a career.
He studied Media Technology at Leeds Metropolitan for 4 years and graduated with First Class Honours in 1998. He was also awarded the prize for best-performing student overall in his year. Colourful Media was formed in June, 1998, to handle the production and marketing of a CD which formed part of his final degree.
Since then, Brian has been involved in many more music projects (recording, mixing and mastering) and also works as a freelance sound recordist in film and television, most notably as sound supervisor for an independent feature production, "Baby Blues". He is a member of the Institute of Broadcast Sound (IBS)
When he has spare time, Brian enjoys a good film, walking and reading thrillers. He plays Acoustic & Bass guitar and has Grade 8 Bass Trombone (a long time ago!).

Helen Gray began learning classical piano at the age of 6 and making music has been a lifelong pursuit. She has a BA in Music and Biblical Studies from Sheffield University and is one of the many students who chose to remain in Sheffield after graduation.
Helen has a wide experience of music composition and production including feature film, corporate video and jingles, and has also created original music for Neuro-Linguistic Programming CD’s and meditations.
She likes to walk in Derbyshire, watch films and practice Pilates. Always keen to learn something new, her other interests include astronomy, geology and anything to do with self-development or psychology.
Helen is also a talented singer/songwriter working towards releasing an album as a solo artist. You can hear some demos at www.myspace.com/helengray  or listen to mp’3s below for varied examples of her work.
